PHOEBE ENGLISH

My computer is full of shows and designers I love, and every now and then I post one of these. I found Phoebe English on SHOWSTUDIO. I looked up her collections first because I loved her name, haha, obvious reason to like a fashion designer..

She is a CSM MA graduate.

OSCARS

Jennifer Lawrence's different Oscar dresses

Christian Dior for the Academy Awards red carpet
Calvin Klein for Oscar's Vanity Fair after party
Chloe for Oscar nominees luncheon

I loved this moment, as if it was planned like this, shows the dress beautifully.

It is like a scene from a movie, perfect way to accept an Academy Award win.

GLAMOROUS AW13

Marc Jacobs NYFW images from style.com

I mean, a few weeks ago I got fascinated by the beauty of old Hollywood's glamour, about how glamourously dressed the women were in those movies.

I was thinking, why back then, and not today.

I mean if I were to go to for drinks or dinner even to an elegant restaurant in a silk satin dress with fur stole, gloves and jewelry to the max, hair and make up all done, I would feel inappropriate, even in London where people wouldn't mind me experimenting with clothes.

I was thinking why is that that back than it was considered elegant, and not today?

LONDON ART: CONTEMPORARY EMOTIONS

Leopard, Mel Ramos
Is truth always Genuine?, Daniele Buetti
Still life with flies, Banksy

Opera Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on New Bond street occupying two floors full of modern art.

We met one of the exhibiting artists, Gerard Rancinan, who had two gigantic photos exhibited. These were his latest works from the series Chaos.

He explained to us that the secret of his pictures lie in the details, that you might not see at first look.

So if you come across his art, look for the details to enjoy and even understand more the meaning of it.
